Helping Maker.ai go from $0 to $100,000
What is Maker?
Maker.ai is a generative AI solution to help marketers and solopreneurs scale their content marketing efforts. Jasper.ai and Copy.ai are well-known competitors in the space.
Context
Maker hired me to figure out the best pricing strategy and optimize their paid media efforts. When I joined the company, their CAC on Meta Ads was around $15, and the email campaigns had 0% conversion rates.
What I did
After testing out a bunch of different audiences and landing page variations we managed to bring CAC down to less than $3.00 without losing out on LTV.
I also set up an email campaign with impressive results:
- 3 emails with +30% open-rates
- 1 email with more than 100 replies
- Around 5% conversion rates (2,000 users activated after receiving the emails)
Results
Driving down the acquisition costs and increasing our activation rates meant that we went from $0 to around $100,000 in ARR in 3 months.
Even though the product had good traction, stickiness was an issue and the landscape changed really fast (we started working on Maker before ChatGPT came out), so we decided to prioritize other initiatives.
